It is 1942 and the German submarine fleet is heavily engaged in the so called "Battle of the Atlantic" to harass and destroy English shipping. With better escorts of the Destroyer Class, however, German U-Boats have begun to take heavy losses. "Das Boot" is the story of one such U-Boat crew, with the film examining how these submariners maintained their professionalism as soldiers, attempted to accomplish impossible missions, while all the time attempting to understand and obey the ideology of the government under which they served. © 1981, 1985, 1997 Bavaria Atelier GmbH, © 1981 Radiant Film. Looking to make a connection with his estranged father, handsome young Andi (André Würde) travels from his home in Germany to the gorgeous island of Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands. Chris (Marko Pustisek), his dad, left the family years ago to go live in paradise and has not been heard from since. Upon his arrival, the local surfer clique welcomes Andi with open arms. He quickly becomes friends with Tina (Alexandra Sydow), a local instructor, and develops a friendship - and major infatuation - with Pedro (Benjamin Martins), a sexy young surfer with a few surprises up his sleeve (a figurative sleeve, of course, as he's shirtless 90% of the time). When his relationship to his father - who he has never met before - becomes strained, and old wounds begin to rip open once again, a long-kept family secret threatens to turn Andi's world completely upside down. Packed with beautiful scenery, an original pop-lite soundtrack, palpable homoerotic tension and positively gorgeous boys clad only in their bathing suits, Off Shore is an emotional family drama that doubles as a feast for the eyes!

This gritty, violent teen coming-of-age drama centers on two girls who become fascinated with the neo-Nazi youth movement. A commercial hit in Germany, the story follows two young women from the German suburbs - 20-year-old Marisa is a hardcore Neo-Nazi believer, a semi-skinhead who's been in the movement for years and whose body is adorned with Nazi tattoos; and 14-year-old Svenja, a sheltered, spoiled, straight-A student who only becomes fascinated with the group because of her neo-Nazi boyfriend. They begin as attention-seeking adversaries but become best friends, though their loyalty is shaken when Marisa decides she wants to leave the movement behind, a decision helped by her unlikely friendship with a scared young Afghan boy whose brother she injured in a hate crime.

Vitus is a 12-year-old boy who almost seems to be from another planet - he has hearing like a bat, he plays piano like a virtuoso and studies encyclopedias. No wonder his parents begin to anticipate a brilliant future for him as a classical pianist. However, the daily pressure of hours of musical practice, his over-protective but well-meaning mother and his father's precarious financial situation lead the boy to seek refuge at his eccentric grandfather's house. Vitus and his grandfather's shared love of flying, mischief and adventure offers Vitus an opportunity at a normal childhood - something the burden of his talent had previously prevented him from. When Vitus employs a ruse pretending he's been robbed of his talent, his future as a piano virtuoso falls at risk. © 2006, 2007 Vitusfilm GmbH. All Rights Reserved.

The inhabitants of an institution in a remote country rebel against their keepers. Their acts of rebellion are by turns humorous, boring and alarming. An allegory on the problematic nature of fully liberating the human spirit, as both commendable and disturbing elements of our nature come forward. The film shows how justifiable revolt may be empowering, but may also turn to chaos and depravity. The allegory is developed in part by the fact that the film is cast entirely with dwarfs.
