Speaking of love, things go blooey instead of gooey whenever heroine and hero come close enough to touch; far from being sensual, let alone erotic, the movie proves to be not much fun at all.
Rick Groen
This is just darkness played bright, a disposable object but hardly objectionable.

The dark and stylized V for Vendetta is visually exhilarating, provocative and disturbing.

Whether you're mindless or Mensa, you'll find stuff here to challenge and trouble you, the way a good piece of speculative fiction should.
Bob Mondello

The swashbuckling first hour is superior to the second, which bursts at the seams with backstory, but a rousing climax makes this the most potent piece of agitpop in years.

Good basis, poor thought The movie was well done, but had some major holes. Is guess you are just supposed to look over them, but I find it hard to do. Firstly, how did V manage to blow up the prison he was in, he simply would not have had the ability. Secondly, why was he not arrested after he blew it up. Thirdly, and I am aware that this is political, but everyone will admit conservatives are a little gun heavy when it comes to the public, which means the public shouldn't have faced the problem with no guns, just saying.
Epic! Anyone who gave this movie lower than 5 stars has no taste. Or is just heartless...Love this movie, amazing dialogue and action. Without a doubt, one of the best movies of all time.
The best Even though this movie maybe old is still has fundamental teachings that all people should know. Most iconic quote in this movie that I feel it touches my heart and soul is that the people shouldn't be afraid of its government the government should be afraid of its people. I wish they would be more movies such as these to come out every month to inspire people on seeking the freedoms and liberties that they rightfully deserve.
Powerfull a movie this good, this entertaining and most important this relevant, to our declining societ is a rare thing indeed. An absolute must see for everyone, regardless of who you are.
EXCELLENT Intelligent, Engaging, Thrilling. This is one of my favorite movie ever. I cant wait when I meet someone new and introduce them to this movie. I have yet to find anyone who does not thorowly enjoy it.
How did I skip this? An incredible film with dialogue worthy of literary masters. Wait - that could be because of all of the Shakespeare quotes! Nothing groundbreaking here if you've read books about totalitarian govts like 1984 or Brave New World, but the action is great. Even as a "conservative," I still relish the revolutionary fantasy of taking up arms against oppressive government. This film did a good job of exploring the fantasy of going after a government that has decided freedom is a dangerous luxury.
FREEDOM FOREVER! (SPOILER!!) Why oh why did V have to die!? I miss him so badly! Alan Moore you have broken my heart and filled it with sorrow. My heart now burdened...the only verdict is PAYMENT. I think it would be amazing if you did a sequel showing that V survived in some awesome way that he miraculously came back to life and jumped off the train just in time to run away from the explosion. If you did that I would be so overjoyed! Just don't kill him in the sequel!
"...The only verdict is vengeance, a vendetta." Overall it's a good film. It's thought provoking, disturbing, and even patriotic in its undertone at points (unlike the anarchist sentiment in the graphic novel it's based on). V is a very interesting character and one of Hugo Weaving's best. The action is great, and exciting especially the last fight scene. The dystopian setting isn't much different from that kind of fair, but the addition of the character "V" is what sets this apart in my opinion. He is chaotic and compelling.
Never grow tired of this movie. This is a movie I could watch over and over. Great plot and two of my favorite actors. The story has such a great meaning behind it as well. To the individual of whom stated this movie was filled with anti Christian messages, you are a closed minded fool. This movie has nothing to do with disputing religion. It is about revolution. It is about fighting corruption.
The best movie of all time! I can't stop watching the movie. Its so perfect. This movie does deserve 5 stars for its brilliant story line and the awesome character V. I can go on about how good this movie is but its best for people to watch it to see for themselves. Its worth every penny of your hard earned money.
I provided the story for V, the speeches, etc. The British don't like V for Vendetta because it praises Guy Fawlkes, their perineal bad guy. Then I made him burn for freedom. And when I turned their eyes into mirrors! Ouch! My hope was that the thirst for freedom would spring from all our hearts. Isn't privacy the very essence of all our freedom! And isn't acceptance of other people doing no harm to us, isn't that essential as well?
Incredible A simply amazing film. Everything is perfect a powerful about it. "Peaple should not be afraid of their governments governments should afraid of their peaple" if I could give it a 10 I would. PLEASE make available for buy!!!!! I have it on blu ray and DVD but I want it on the go. One of the best films ever made. Thank you Andy and larry wachowski
Best Movie My all time favorite movie. Has everything. love, action, thrills, and the best thing on this earth. Natalie Portman.

Another unexpectedly superb movie from the brains of the Wachowski brothers It is as thought-provoking as it is Matrix-slick and I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did. The pacing is perfect and you really feel the movie as it plays out. Hugo Weaving is totally enjoyable and you hang on his every word; the fact you never see his face makes this movie go up in my opinion and down in popular opinion.
