There is nothing wrong with Allen's determination to mix humor and drama, it's simply too bad he's not getting better at it.
Rene Rodriguez

Vicky Cristina Barcelona is the cinematic equivalent of a book on tape: a movie that watches itself for you and tells you what it sees.
User reviews
While not a Woody Allen fan, I enjoyed this film. I'm not much into Wood Allen film's, I guess I am not enough of an intellectual to really ‘get them’, but I enjoyed this film. I’m always down for a movie with Javier Bardem in it. I was pleasantly surprised to see Patricia Clarkson as well. It had a good cast, overall. I have to say that I enjoyed watching Penelope Cruz’s character not be the perfect woman she always plays, it was enjoyable to see her have some faults. I enjoyed the story, I seemed well-thought out and had you guessing at how it would end. I am loving the .25 rentals, it is a great way to see some movies I haven’t been too sure about seeing, but not having to walk away feeling like I might get ripped off. Watching it on my HTC Wildfire at work helps making the day go by quickly.
Ricky A very good movie.I would have given 5 stars but I could not watch this on my Galaxy tab only on my phone. On my tablet it kept saying could not watch on rooted device but I am not rooted.
Weird But Good I thought this movie was done really well. The plot was sick and twisted but it ended up being a good movie. I would recommend renting this movie.
Unfortunately poor I was very excited to see this movie but feel like my time spent watching it was a waste. Not only did almost nothing happen, it happened so slowly. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone.
I call shenanigans I attempted to rent this and another for 25 cents, which it approved. Within a couple of minutes, they cancelled the order. After checking with the credit card, they did not decline, google just decided not to sell it to me. An Hour later it was only available for 3.99 to rent instead.
Great Flick This is a movie, many will dislike, but it's right up my alley. If you like movies that don't get a lot of publicity, you should like this one.
Weird It was an interesting and very unpredictable movie.. I wouldnt reccomend it
Love this movie I really enjoyed this movie. One of my favorites.
Wine Washington wine is way better than anything Spain has ever done.
Thank-You Thanks for the $0.25 movie. I seen it before but it was an alright movie. And for a $0.25 it was a great choice. I hope the movies continue to be on sale. Galaxy Nexus
Disappointed google I would love to see the rest of it, its a great movie...but it keeps force closing on me.
Excellente! I'm not into these type of romance flicks, but Iabsolutely loved this one, lol.

Superhero Movie
Super is as super does: Finally, the guys behind the outrageously silly "Scary Movie" franchise have used their own 'special powers' to spoof superhero movies. After being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high school loser Rick Riker develop superhuman abilities like incredible strength and armored skin. Rick decides to use his new powers for good and becomes a costumed crime fighter known as "The Dragonfly." However, standing in the way of his destiny is the villainous Lou Landers. After an experiment gone wrong, Lou develops the power to steal a person's life force and in a dastardly quest for immortality becomes the supervillain, "The Hourglass." With unimaginable strength, unbelievable speed and deeply uncomfortable tights, will the Dragonfly be able to stop the sands of The Hourglass and save the world? More importantly, will we stop laughing long enough to notice?
Hurricane Season
Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) delivers a superstar performance in this powerful story based on real events. Amid the wreckage of Hurricane Katrina, one coach attempts the impossible: create a winning basketball team using players from five of the hardest-hit high schools in the area. Featuring Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy), Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Shad Moss aka Bow Wow (Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift), rap megastar Lil Wayne, and Bonnie Hunt (Cheaper by the Dozen films), Hurricane Season takes an honest look at disaster and shows how heroes can rise from the most devastating of circumstances.
Scary Movie 4
"Scary Movie 4", the most hilarious and irreverent installment yet with outrageous send-ups of "War of the Worlds", "The Grudge", "The Village", "Saw" and "Saw II", "Million Dollar Baby" and much more. Legendary comedy director David Zucker and producer Bob Weiss reunite to take aim at some of the best fright films, the latest box office hits, music, current events, pop culture, and your favorite celebrities. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back as the loveable, dim-witted Cindy Campbell and her self-serving, sex-crazed pal, Brenda, respectively - joined this time around by Craig Bierko, as the cute-but-utterly clueless Tom Ryan. Together, they battle to save the world from a ruthless alien invasion.
Fanboys
It's 1998 and Star Wars fanboys across the globe eagerly await the release of Episode I. But for Eric, Linus, Hutch and Windows the term "fanboy" is more than just a title, it's a badge of honor. Spurred by impatience and an undying loyalty to their cause, these former high school friends reunite to undertake the road trip of their fan-tasies. Traveling West across the country to visit their Mecca - George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch - the plan is to break in, steal the film and stake their claim as the first fanboys in history to watch it. But to secure their place in the fanboy hall of fame, they'll have to contend with bizarre bikers, a crazy pimp, a deranged group of trekkies and the quiet intensity of William Shatner.
Grace is Gone
In one of his most acclaimed performances, John Cusack makes an astonishing transformation as Stanley Philips, a sad, disconnected man unable to tell his young daughters their mother, a soldier, has died in Iraq. Instead, he takes the girls on a road trip, where their innocent charm helps him rediscover a healing joy he thought he'd lost forever.
The Nanny Diaries
"The Nanny Diaries" tells the story of the emotional and often humorous journey of Annie Braddock (Johansson), a young woman from a working-class neighborhood in New Jersey, struggling to understand her place in the world. Fresh out of college, she gets tremendous pressure from her mother to find a respectable position in the business world although Annie would prefer to trade in her blackberry for an anthropologist's field diary. Through a serendipitous meeting, Annie ends up in the elite and ritualistic culture of Manhattan's Upper East Side -- as remote from Annie's suburban New Jersey upbringing as life in an Amazon tribal village. Choosing to duck out of real life, Annie accepts the position as a nanny for a wealthy family, referred to as simply "the X's." She quickly learns that life is not very rosy on the other side of the tax bracket, as she must cater to the every whim of Mrs. X (Linney) and her precocious son Grayer, while attempting to avoid the formidable Mr. X (Giamatti). Life becomes even more complicated when Annie falls for a gorgeous Park Avenue Hottie (Evans), and she's forced to re-examine her life and the direction in which it is headed. Bernie
In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede was one of the town's most beloved residents. He taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone loved and appreciated Bernie, so it came as no surprise when he befriended Marjorie Nugent, an affluent widow who was as well known for her sour attitude as her fortune. Bernie frequently traveled with Marjorie and even managed her banking affairs. Marjorie quickly became fully dependent on Bernie and his generosity and Bernie struggled to meet her increasing demands. Bernie continued to handle her affairs, and the townspeople went months without seeing Marjorie. The people of Carthage were shocked when it was reported that Marjorie Nugent had been dead for some time, and Bernie Tiede was being charged with the murder.

Ginger & Rosa
London, 1962, when the Cold War meets the Sexual Revolution. Two teenage girls -- GINGER & ROSA -- are inseparable. They skip school together, talk about love, religion and politics and dream of lives bigger than their mothers' domesticity. But the growing threat of nuclear war casts a shadow over their lives. Ginger (Elle Fanning) is drawn to poetry and protest, while Rosa (Alice Englert) shows Ginger how to smoke cigarettes, kiss boys and pray. Both rebel against their mothers (Jodhi May and Christina Hendricks). Meanwhile, Ginger's pacifist father, Roland (Alessandro Nivola) seems a romantic, bohemian figure to the girls. He encourages Ginger's 'Ban-the-Bomb' activism, while Rosa starts to take a very different interest in him. As Ginger's parents fight and fall apart, Ginger finds emotional sanctuary with a gay couple, both named Mark (Timothy Spall and Oliver Platt), and their American friend, the poet Bella (Annette Bening). Finally, as the Cuban Missile Crisis escalates -- and it seems the world itself may come to an end -- the lifelong friendship of the two girls is shattered. Ginger clutches at one hope; if she can help save the world from extinction, perhaps she too will survive this moment of personal devastation.
