Watchmen the movie provides ample evidence that more is more, but less might have been closer to Moore in spirit (that is, anarchic, witty and compelling).

If you haven't read the source material I think you're going to dislike it even more than I did. So yeah, it's sort of bad news around here.
Richard Roeper
Great book, mediocre adaptation.
Peter Rainer
Watchmen left me looking at the exit far more often than at the screen.

Zack Snyder's film version of Watchmen is a grim and grisly excursion into comic-book mythology.

Refreshing "super hero" movie Really liked the movie. Found it to be very novel and grounding with the grimy and dark feel. Interesting characters and dynamics between them. Refreshing after plenty of the do-gooder super hero movies around (not to say they suck...just refreshing)
Horrible This movie was garbage I was disappointed hardly any action and Heros sobbing over what they used to be when they was heros , more like a soap opera then anything I fell asleep 4 times that's how boring it was and for everyone that gave this a good rating are sore losers with soap opera lives of there own the only appealing thing about this movie is the sexy hot blue guy with his sexy big d*** and big blue balls that was nice and enjoyed every inch of it , other then that this movie sucks .

Good cinematics with a thick plot The "Watchmen" graphic novel could possibly be one of the best stories I have ever read, with some of the most complex characters. While reading it I found Allan Moore not only to be a skilled writer but a true genius. This movie has almost if not completely lived up to that story, bringing to life one of my favorite Allan Moore experiences. I am giving this movie 5 stars because it deserves no less, if you could not get into this movie try reading the graphic novel first. I loved it :)
I loved it It's a great concept of questionable superheroes in an alternate timeline. It was very well executed in/by story, actors, effects, and overall tone. Anyone with an open mind and/or likes dark comics will love this movie
Genius I have not seen a movie as good as this one in years. Let's take out the incredible effects and you have one of the most incredible stories. Alan Moore is just a brilliant man, and this movie has done him justice. I also challenge you to find a better movie opening credit sequence, as the years progress and we see the history of the world pass while we hear Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a-changin'". This is not for everyone, if you came to watch a batman like action thriller, this is not the movie.

Purchased Movie $8.99 HD On my Nexus 7...Only plays in 420P?????? So I purchased this movie on my Google Nexus 7. Now I am at home on my computer. It only plays in 420p. Now when you click on the trailer for this movie it streams the trailer in 720p... better, but what about hmmm 1080p. When I buy a movie in HD, i expect it to play in HD. I feel cheated. I guess I can keep watching the trailer in 720p. At least thats something. I wish google would read this and A - Provide me the HD version I paid for or B - Refund my money :) !!!!! P.S. The movie Watchmen is a Great Movie. Thats why I initially purchased it!!!

The Dark Knight Rises
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. MPAA Rating: PG-13 - 2012 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures Funding, LLC. 300: Rise of an Empire
Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield - on the sea - as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.
"300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
300
The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. Experience history at swordpoint. And moviemaking with a cutting edge. MPAA Rating: R ©

Driven by this commitment and guided by his belief in something greater than himself, Eli does what he must to survive--and continue. Only one other man in this ruined world understands the power Eli holds, and is determined to make it his own: Carnegie (Gary Oldman), the self-appointed despot of a makeshift town of thieves and gunmen. Meanwhile, Carnegie's adopted daughter Solara (Mila Kunis) is fascinated by Eli for another reason: the glimpse he offers of what may exist beyond her stepfather's domain.
