White House Down is terrible. The acting? The effects? The villainy? All bad. The politics are a hot mess.
Tom Huddleston
If all you're after is a pair of mismatched heroes wisecracking their way through a series of explosive, well-mounted set pieces, look no further.
Connie Ogle
It's Independence Day without the aliens and a president partial to Air Jordans.
David Hiltbrand
The main flaw of White House Down is that it overstays its welcome, thanks in large part to a silly climax that seems to unfold in three laborious acts.
Christopher Orr
Essentially a louder, sillier version of Die Hard, with John Cale standing in for John McClane, a precocious daughter standing in for the plucky wife, and, alas, no one even much trying to stand in for Alan Rickman's deliciously wicked Hans Gruber.
James Berardinelli
It follows the Emmerich template: a spectacle-tinged, compelling setup; a dumb, disappointing midsection; and a cheese-topped denouement that veers so close to self-parody that one is tempted to call it funny.

Not bad at all I was surprised that I liked it given the lineup but it wasn't bad. Plenty of action!!!! Sometimes it's a bit excessive and wears out. It really isn't too realistic and I don't think Foxx fit the president profile but it was entertaining. It had comedy, action, surprise and passion. Good for emotional people too, that's why my wife liked it!

Could Of Been A Good Movie The main defect of this movie is it is literally dripping with left wing liberalism. While I do not mind some polical commentary in a movie, this was excessive, bordering on hate speech. It is a shame because the acting and action was decent. I have always enjoyed Jamie Foxx & James Woods. The movie "Olympus Has Fallen" is by far a better movie and has a more "plausible/realistic" plot!!

Rehashed and boring Same old story with an over the top American flag sucking theme. The story line and characters in this made me physically ill at times. I hope Jamie Foxx got a lot of money for this one because he was the only good thing about it. Could not have been more predictable. The special effects that should have made up for all that were just not there. If you have nothing else better to watch or you like mindless action movies go ahead.

Silly action movie that's a half hour to long. This is a DUMB but decent mindless action flick. It has laughs and cool action sequences throughout. It kind of beats you over the head with the same father-daughter issues in the beginning. But it is a decent movie but a little longer than it needs to be

A Fun and exciting film. I enjoyed it! I enjoyed this movie a lot. People that keep looking for a thought provoking film with a white house theme, when there are missiles hitting the white house.... lol.. COME ON!! This film has some great action.. I do not think that the actors did a amazing job but in the end I did not expect that. I expected a fun, active and all the way to the bones action film... honestly I got it! It is long. I liked it! I do recommend it for a popcorn film. Stop being political and just enjoy a movie!!

Great Action-Comedy Two lead characters who are both charasmatic and comedic, and both of whom have shown they can hold their own. Pitted with a villian that was somewhat predictable and relatable and a slew of badguys who were, well, placed precisely to have bullets in them followed by wity one liners. I enjoyed the film thoroughly. It had me excited and laughing, and in awe by the destruction of our White House. Oh my the CGI.

Pleasantly surprised A comedian as a president and a hip hop dancer as a good guy soldier is what kept going through my mind when my friend picked this movie. I was surprised how fun this movie was and for an action movie It obtained some facts . The structure of the white house and some thought on the structure of our government during crisis.

Oscar Winner Jamie foxx... in another piece of DList movie!!!! started out promising in Collateral, Ray Dreamgirls and Law Abiding Citizen bt his resume lately is bad joke .. dont pay to see this its so bad on Battlefield Earth territory... yep so ya know what u are in store for nw!!! SO STAY FAR AWAY! and u will feel cheated and the costar who is the worst actor of our time should nt be in any film. see Olympus. Has Fallen instead
