Disney's found a lot to play with here, but you may find yourself itching to take the controls.
Michael Phillips
You'll either love it or you'll admire it, while wishing it would calm down and, I don't know, maybe pick up a book for a while.
Bilge Ebiri
It's a cool game, to be sure, but watching someone else play it gets old after a while.
Stephen Whitty
For anyone with a grade-schooler and a free Saturday, it's a pretty safe and painless bet. And a great excuse to go up to the attic later and see if you can dig out your old Atari 2600.
Christopher Orr
Unlike the Pixar films toward which it aspires-which marry sophisticated conceits to straightforward storylines-Wreck-It Ralph consistently gets lost in its own intricate plot mechanics.
James Rocchi
'Wreck-it Ralph' is a serious contender for the title of best animated film of the year.

The movie's subversive sensibility and old-school/new-school feel are a total kick.

What's not to love? I saw this movie at 16 with my 18 year old cousin while it was still in theaters and I think we enjoyed it more than the kids around us. We were laughing and almost cried, the plot is amazing and the characters draw you in. You find yourself getting excited when you recognize a real character or person (Skrillex/Sonny Moore) but yeah it's just amazing, I tell all my friends to watch it =)

An enjoyable Disney film! This is the first Disney film I've actually enjoyed since I was a kid. What saves it is a delightful lack of singing, and character designs that look like *characters* instead of just the same Princess and Prince template with slightly different hair and (rarely) pigment in their skin. Unlike so many other non-Pixar cartoons, this doesn't come across as having been made by people who really want to make a cartoon but have no ability to write. It's a coherent story with differentiated, compelling characters. The jokes are funny and, perhaps more importantly, make sense within the story structure and work for the characters.

Entertaining Despite being a kid's movie it's certainly engaging and full of eye candy (PARDON THE PUN LOL). The acting was also great but maybe my heart strings need tuning because the only genuine moments still felt too contrived unlike Pixar films. At the very least it was a treat (ROFL GET IT?) to spot the hardcore gaming references. Definitely fun to watch but not a great movie.

Fun for everyone Disney has done it again. A great animated movie that not only will the kiddos enjoy but the gamer junkie parents will as well. Funny, touching, and heart warming this movie has it all. Me and my husband found several parts to be hilarious which obviously our 3 yr old didn't get but she couldn't stop talking about this movie after we saw it. In fact, she begged us to take her back to the theater to see it several times which she's never done with a movie yet!!
Such a cute movie This movie k enjoyed with my kids it is such a cute movie and whoever didn't like it must not be a kid at heart themselves. Has action and adventure for a animated movie and is just adorable plus watching my kids laugh and sit still enjoying every minute is wonderful too. I watched this movie with my kids about over a dozen times already and I'm still not tired of it. My kids have the video game to its just as good just like the movie. I love it 5 stars all the way the songs at the end my kids love too!

Fantastic! I wasnt sure about this movie upon seeing the trailers when it was in theaters. However, after watching it i can say that any pessimistic preconceived notions i had were completely wrong! The plot of the film is something truly fresh and new, which we havent seen in a long time, and included characters from some of my favorite videogame franchises(Sonic, Mario, Packman, etc,). The characters are unique, diverse and, for the most part, lovable(Vanellope is so frickin adorable it blows my mind! <3 :D). And the soundtrack is absolutely amazing! honestly, this film deserves no less than 5 stars!
Best animated feature in forever Though i'm usually skeptical about animated movies, this movie is just plain awesome and im a huge fan of it. a sense of nostalgia combined with an intriguing plot that rarely suffers a dull moment and awesomely construed characters with unique personalities (and some in situations all too relateable) make this movie a must see. Some say it becomes repetitive focusing on "sugar rush" but it would be hard to maintain a plot without focusing on a certain part that serves as background . Great movie!

Great film; our family loved it Mom, dad, the 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy were all riveted, laughing, and in tears. A good script (hey, John Lasseter of Pixar!) and great voice acting, combined with plenty of nods to gaming experiences from days of yore, gave us a solid film's worth of entertainment. (Pro tip for avid classic arcade fans: watch until the final moment of the closing credits!) On a technical note, watching in HD via the Nexus Q made for a smooth experience; the animation was gorgeous and the sound was great.
