Intense Bloodbath I used to watch a lot of kung fu and samurai movies when I was kid. This movie reminded me why I was engrossed with them in the first place. This was refreshing to see....the raw carnage and straight to the point. It's nice to see an action movie without all the Hollywood magical hoopla involved, especially these days.

Classic action film with big heart A period action film about virtue and duty. Amazingly filmed and well written. Top class action film leaves the viewer with a lot of meditate on after the lights come on.

Amazing Samurai Flick Great story, action and varied cast. Awesome sets and just a really good watch (in the quality vein of Ip Man 1-2). Don't sleep on this one.

Awesome!!!!! Very good movie. Straight to the point. Not a bunch of useless " filler" scenes. 50 minute battle at the end was one of the best ever.
Great movie. One of the best modern samurai remake movies I've ever watched...
Similar to The Seven Samurai, but not a bad thing. If you loved Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai" then you will love this film as well. One of the best films of this year in my opinion.
A great samurai flick. Takeshi Miike's best film since Audition.

13 Assassins
A sadistic Daimyo (feudal lord) rapes a woman and murders
both her and her husband, but even when one of his own vassals commits suicide to bring attention to the crime, the matter is quickly hushed up. Not only will there be no punishment, but because the Daimyo is the Shogun's younger brother, he will soon be appointed to a high political position from which he could wreak even more havoc. Convinced that the fate of the Shogunate hangs in the balance, a plot is hatched to assassinate the Daimyo. The two most brilliant strategic minds of their generation find themselves pitted against each other; one is tasked to defend a man he despises, and has a small army at his disposal. The other is given a suicide mission, and has 12 brave men. They are the 13 Assassins.
