Cusack, with his one-of-the-guys face and his nice way with child actors, does creditable work as an Average American Dad trying to put things right.
Laremy Legel
2012 is the rare case of a bad film that I'm nevertheless obliged to recommend you see.
Sara Vilkomerson
2012 is reminiscent of yesteryear '80s shlock-tastic blockbusters -- total popcorn entertainment with ridiculous dialogue and impossible situations and special effects that will boggle the brain...
Joshua Rothkopf
The worst sins of dialogue are visited upon the wonderfully soulful Chiwetel Ejiofor, who has to remind creepy government types that those massive high-tech arks are for all of us, not just the...
A.O. Scott
Even though this movie's running time of two and a half hours is about one hour too long, there's still some pretty cool disaster stuff on the way.

Awesome Effects If you like big disaster movies, this is one of them. The plot is not really deep, but the special effects are out of this world. Loved it.
SO GOOD! I don't know what all those people are talking about, saying it's not good! Who cares if 2012 is already passed or they don't think it's "believable". They probably just sat there pointing out every tiny flaw. I personally thought this movie was amazing!!! Actually so good!! The plot was great and everything, and it was a truly remarkable movie with fantastic special effects! Although no exact date can be told for the end of the world and the mayan calendar had simply started a new cycle like our new year,
In terms of the visuals Incredible CGI. As an appreciator of animation, this film definitely sates my appetite for detailed and realistic special effects. The story is believable and entertaining, and can pull at your heart strings in some moments. Definitely would recommend for a rent. Not sure if some would consider this movie to be own-worthy though.
Amazing! This movie has one of the best storylines and acting that I have ever seen. This movie will make you worry about how the world can come crumbling down around you, and you never know when your last moment on Earth will be like. All the scenes in this movie where really believable and had me wondering what would happen next. Definately buy this movie!
