Zio must say good by and let it be known he is leaving. The day's journey has a reminiscing effect and sends his mind back to memorable days of adventure. A day years ago, when Zio pedaled down the charmed streets of Stowe, Vermont, with the vigor of a young man. From the bike Zio remembers highlights of his journey from youth, into the mountains, and to the freedom of skiing. From the hardwood glades of Vermont where he first felt the soul of the turn, to years of wanderlust and dedicated training in the North American west, and finally the proving grounds of the Chamonix Valley, France. Zio remembers all he has lost and gained in a lifetime of commitment and surrender built on passion, love and soul. Winter's Wind is the culmination of Matty "Moo" Herriger's years of dedication to film making, skiing and mountains. For more than two decades the elements of Matt Herriger's first independently produced film have been shaped by his experiences as an athlete and one of the industry's most elite high angle cinematographers. Winter's Wind is the story of one man's journey from protege to guru, mentor and legend, played by the real legends of skiing, past, present and future. 456. Bringing The Vibes

Sports
The Tenth Street Bros are Bill and George Bryan - two skimboarders who have seen and done it all. The two grew up at Victoria Beach during the birth of skimboard wave riding, learning from pioneers Chris Hendersen, Tex Haines, and Kurt Westguaard. As teenagers they moved to 10th Street in South Laguna during its heyday. Here, they began recording their skimboarding as a means to watch the footage and improve their skimboarding. Riding the buzz of their first film, Soulag (a movie made on two VCR's in George's bedroom), they decided to step up their production and dropped The Bomb. The Bomb attracted national attention within the board sport community and also aired on many major networks. The Bomb showed the best skimboarders, waves, and camerawork at the time. The bomb squad showed the world the possibilities of skimboarding the large waves found in Cabo San Lucas and Wedge. It would later prove to be the blue print for all skimboard films to follow. The films hysteria incited a riot in fact, during it's Laguna Beach premier. Perhaps most unique to The Bomb, beside the skimboarding, was the presence of the eclectic South Laguna lifestyle. The Tenth Street Bros made being a skimboarder look like so much fun! Through the years, the Tenth Street Bros and friends have continued their role as the rebellious, fun loving crew. Instead of dumping money they did not have to keep up with technology, they have focused on getting people's attention through shock, spontaneity, and plain old fun. These were guys you wanted to hang out with; and you knew you could if you saw them at the beach. The Tenth Street Bros can be credited for getting more people hyped on skimboarding than anyone on this planet. There are countless stories of guys like Grady Archbold or Austin Keen, who didn't start skimboarding until they watched a Tenth Street Bros movie. That leads us to perhaps the most ironic thing about their 2011 release, BTV. The first skimboard movie seen by everyone in the film was a Tenth Street Bros film. The student is now the teacher. Upon acknowledging this fact, and the importance of their films, the brothers are letting the riders become completely involved in this year's production. Helping them choose their songs, clips, or get involved in whatever way they want. What we found out is that every rider approaches skimboarding with a different vibe. So the best way to learn more about the worlds best skimboarders, is to take a look at BTV - Bringing The Vibes.

458. Manufacturing Stoke

Sports
No other sport is so intrinsically linked to nature. Some call it a spiritual experience, most call it indescribable. And yet, in becoming the multi-billion dollar industry it is today, a great paradox has risen. Surfers are indeed directly connected to the earth's pulse and yet a majority of the materials used are environmentally toxic. The story begins in the 1960's, the golden era of surfing, a time of innocence and discovery. Surf culture erupted onto the collective consciousness and became the epitome of cool. Fast forward to December 5th, 2005 and the closing of Clark Foam for environmental reasons, the largest surf blanks manufacturer in the world. Not only was the event a wake-up call for many to shift from petroleum-base products to more eco-friendly materials, it also reframed the foundation of a stagnant culture. Enter surfing's renaissance, an era where the new generation is completely changing what it means to be a surfer. And amid timid efforts from the industry's biggies, a plethora of grassroots up-and- comers is redefining what a surfer is supposed to ride. From wooden surfboards, handplanes and alaias to recycled blanks and organic clothing, wave riding is taking on a new soul. Taking California as its focal point, the birth place of the surf industry, the film travels from San Diego to San Francisco, via San Clemente, to capture the diversity of the Californian coast, while interviewing an amazing variety of people in their respective environments. Let it be a shaping room, an office, a beach, a blank factory, an art gallery, or a wood shop, you will be transported to a world rarely-ever-seen. Framed through the eyes of the youth, the documentary features for the very first time three up-and-coming surfers: Lucas Dirkse,16, Niko Traubman 14, and Tiare Thompson, 9. From riding the unconventional and bodysurfing, to bringing back the stoke, they are now dictating what the industry will become. Also featured are icons of the industry, including John Baker Dahl and Carl Ekstrom. From the invention of surf wax to those who created the modern board, these individuals have shaped the surfing world for the last 50 years and they now share their invaluable insights on the evolution of the industry. Manufacturing Stoke is an introspective look into the surfing culture's struggle to be beneficial unto itself, a tapestry of both influential and eclectic members of the surfing community that are constantly striving for positive change.
