Pritam is a school bus driver taking care of his 3 useless children—Madhav, Lucky and Laxman. He's a simple man living a simple life. Geeta is mother of two, Geeta is a housewife taking care of her beloved children Gopal and Laxman. She is very fond of Daboo, her neighbor and is a very family oriented female. Puppy Bhai is Goa's mafia with a short-term memory problem. He carries a 70's look along with his Henchmen Daga and Teja. He changes his personality every other moment and unknowingly puts his goons in danger. Daaga is one of Puppy Bhai's henchmen. He hilariously uses all the wrong spellings possible in his conversation. Teja is one of Puppy Bhai's henchmen, he is short tempered and thinks of killing his boss Puppy Bhai whenever he sees him losing his memory. Vasooli is in love with Chintu. He provides a loan to Gopal and gang for their different business ideas, getting nothing in return. Chintu is Daboo's elder sister. She works in the shack and has a fishery business. Apparently, Chintu is Vasooli's love interest. Inspector Dhande, an inspector in Goa, falls prey to Vasooli's abuses. He's always dragged into the wrong situations for no reason. Havaldar Gandhari is a constable. He is always present with Inspector Dhande. He has no account of what he speaks. Straightforward and witty, that's Gandhari!

The film (based on true story) revolves around a brave heart Barun Biswas, portrayed by Parambrata Chatterjee, who raises voice against atrocities being committed against women and children, in the village of Dukhiya. They employ the help of an estate agent, who finds them a client who rents out a room in her house for cheap, the only condition being, no single men allowed, only families and married couples. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Jay is transformed into Jaya and Amit is the lucky husband. When the tenant couple goes to meet their landlady, they stand dazed to find out that it is their college principal Shalini Devi. Innocent to the con, Shalini Devi agrees to allow this couple in her home. The double whammy for the couple arrives when, the next morning, Amit and Jaya find out that Shalini Devi has two nieces.... the very two beautiful girls they got into trouble with in college: Neha and Nisha. Now starts the real confusion of romance and love. Amit falls madly in love with Neha, but she of course doesn't look at him because according to her he is married. Nisha falls hard for Jay in college without knowing that he is playing wife Jaya to Amit.
