Plot Summary
Expectant mother Liz wakes to find her nearly-to-term pregnancy has disappeared overnight. When doctors can find no medical explanation for the loss, police treat Liz and her husband Rick as prime suspects in what has now become a missing child case. Only Rick and Liz's brother Evan trusts her version of events. As word spreads, the young couple is subjected to the unwanted attention of the police and prying neighbors. Evan feels for his sister and, as a film student, begins documenting her story. Even though he can't prove Liz's innocence, he sets out to tell her side of what happened and to set the record straight. To relieve some of Liz's grief, Rick and Evan take her on a vacation to the mountains. Evan meets a local girl named Megan and the two hit it off. Things begin to settle down and Liz's spirits even start to improve. As Evan continues documenting their vacation, unusual patterns arise. Liz still has no real answers for the disappearance of her baby despite his interviews and questions. Evan and Rick are horrified when her condition visibly declines. No one can ignore the fact that something is very wrong with Liz. When the trip spins out of control they realize that whatever happened with Liz and her baby isn't over. None of them are safe.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Mundane conversations and outings drag on while the central mystery takes baby steps forward, suggesting that a shorter running time or a more developed script might have better served the originality of the premise.
Rotten: There are many things absent from this found-footage horror movie, including suspense, logic, and originality.
Rotten: It's been 15 years - can we stop remaking "The Blair Witch Project" already?
Rotten: Imagine for a moment what someone like Roman Polanski could do with such a loaded nightmare scenario. And then marvel at how thoroughly it's wasted in this threadbare throwaway ...

WOULD RATHER BE ABDUCTED BY ALIENS THAN WATCH THIS FILM AGAIN
Boy, this was a real stinker. If you like camera shots of the floor, shaky camera style, boring script, annoying actors, this is the film for you. If you have insomnia this movie will help, but other than that watching it one occasionally contemplates suicide. Save your money and if you want to waste a couple hours of your life watch paint dry; it would likely be more rewarding.
AND AT AT THE END OF THE MOVIE THEY ALL DIE
I WANTED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE BECAUSE OF ERIN WAY SHE WAS GREAT WHAT LITTLE THAT I GOT TO SEE OF HER….THE WHOLE CAMERA VIEW WAS OF THE FLOOR OR THE GROUND OR TORSOS OF THE ACTORS... WHEN IT WAS IMPORTANT TO SEE THE ACTION OR STORY THERE WAS NOTHING TO WATCH ONLY HORRIBLE DIALOGUE FROM THE "CAMERA MAN"….
Made me physically ill from the camera movement
The movie itself was very average, with a poorly realized script, mundane goings-on, and some very ill-conceived moments where nothing interesting happens to further the overall plot. I will say that the actress who played Liz is a stand out, as her acting is not only believable, but chilling. I actually believed she was being filmed. I will be keeping a close eye on her career.
That being said, this is one of the worst offenders of the "found-footage" genre; I was nauseous several times throughout the film, and I had to stop the movie at one point to keep my food down. Movies like REC and VHS know how to stabilize the camera and tone down the movement to provide a better viewing experience. This movie just overdid it with the user-held camera angle. Overall, this was just not a very well made film. It's unfortunate, as the premise is very solid. Do not give this movie your time, as it does not deserve it. A missed opportunity.
