Plot Summary
Tricia's husband has been missing for seven years. Her younger sister Callie comes to live with her as the pressure mounts to finally declare him 'dead in absentia.' As Tricia sifts through the wreckage and tries to move on with her life, Callie finds herself drawn to an ominous tunnel near the house. As she begins to link it to other mysterious disappearances, she comes to the realization that his presumed death might be anything but 'natural.' Soon it becomes clear that the ghostly force at work in the tunnel might have set its sights on Callie and Tricia too.

Going to be a classic
If you consider yourself a connoisseur of scary cinema (my favorite horror movies are the likes of "The Shining," "Don't Look Now," & "The Exorcist," if that gives you an idea of what I mean) then Absentia is a must-see. Original, thoughtful, smart and spooky as hell. It's crazy how good this film is at making you scared simply by suggesting things. Unimaginably horrific, worse-then-death things. No gore, deeply suspenseful, great character development and a richly layered concept.
And speaking of "Don't Look Now," Absentia is a great take on grief and mourning as well.
Terrifying &Thrilling
This is an amazingly scary movie! The relationships between the characters is captivating. The movie is full of suspense from beginning to end! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Suprised.
Very interesting movie, defnitely not what you expect -- but in a good way. Horrifyingly creepy from the beginning, and it eases with more questions. I know the difficult in finding a good movie when you're bored, but you don't want to run into another No name "scary" movie, this one doesn't disappoint. By the time you reach the end, you want to know more. Definitely scary then other "Name brand" movies out there. My sister and I loved it.
