Slow Start
This a complex psychological drama about loss and grieving. I love the sense of a European looking at America. There are some wonderful moments. The characters are developed nicely. I care about them. What frustrates me is that the that director takes so long to let us know what the story is about. I am not in a rush, I love slow, developing movies, but I needed more insight sooner. I think the encounter between rose and Simon near the end of the film is one of the sexist/non-sexy scenes I have encountered lately. It is worth the watch. Thomas and Isabelle, long may they live.
European sensibility
Great film! An European film made in NYC. Must watch if you like the Dardenne brothers.
adrift in sleep and snore
a very weak and dull film. the plus side is it's soundtrack, short in time but effective most deffinitley.
