Plot Summary
Tim Allen narrates this real-life, triumphant, comic, coming-of-age tale. After three years at sea, Rex, an irrepressible King Penguin with a thirst for travel and love of epic voyages heads home to South Georgia Island. On this beautiful, forbidding piece of land lies his birthplace and home: Penguin City. Unsure what the wider world still has to offer him, Rex has decided to try something different: marriage and, eventually, if he’s lucky, family. As he navigates the ups and downs of his new life, he realizes that, no matter how far he’s traveled on his own, settling down and starting a family is the greatest adventure of all.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: This mainstream theatrical release is inferior to its shorter educational-film cousin.
Rotten: The film is a klutzy rearrangement of documentary footage into a forced story arc narrated in first person by Tim Allen.
Fresh: There are some nice images of the teeming penguin population, and great fun to be had witnessing the love life, and indeed sex life, of penguins.
