Plot Summary
Amber dreams of escaping her small town existence and persuades her friends to accompany her to find an apartment in the big city. When their transportation breaks down, she and her friends gratefully accept a ride in the back of a semi. But when the driver refuses to stop and they discover the cargo is hundreds of cartons of blood, they panic. Their panic turns to terror when the truck disgorges them into a dark, abandoned warehouse where bloodthirsty creatures learn to hunt human prey, which, the friends realize, is what they now are…

Right at the start, the film takes on a kind of mystery, a kind of alternate reality, time-warping surrealism. That is what got me hooked.
The acting by Courtney Hope is also what kept me glued to my seat. The usual teenage binging and sex is just something to sit through, and is necessary to develop the relationships between the characters. For the most part, that is kept brief, and for that I applaud the writers. The film gets intense quick, and somehow maintains its grip through the "strength" and the emotional reality of the heroine. The revelation near the end keeps true to Courtney's character, and allows the film to take on a meaning that a simple tale of survival cannot possibly dream to achieve.
Again, the presentation of the story is excellent. The strong acting helps bring the film to a height that not many horror films are able to reach. This is a must-see for horror fans who not only love a good chase, but also love a strong portrait of a young woman on the brink of self-discovery. Pretty dramatic stuff here.
A nice surprise
I enjoyed this film. I didn't go into it expecting very much, but the lead's acting is quite good--she makes you care about her character just enough to add depth where there isn't much provided by the storyline. It's worth renting.
Decent - 3.5 stars
Story-wise, it's not that strong. But the acting and direction manage to maintain good tensions throughout the movie. Worth watching.
