Plot Summary

A conservative island community is under attack! Port Gamble, Washington is being overrun with braineaters, and the people seem powerless to stave them off. A rag tag band of rebels led by Frida (Janette Armand), an Iranian college student suspected of being an Iraqi terrorist, and Tom (Doug Fahl), a gay business man who has returned to town with his partner to come out to his mother, tries to turn the tide and push the invading hoards of undead back.

NOTHING like "Shawn of the Dead"

I was actually an extra on the set of this movie, and I was pretty excited to see the final outcome. To put it simple, it was a waste of the $4 to rent it, and it is an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back. Most of the acting by the main characters is sub-par and overly dramatic. I feel there was some sort of political satire the director was trying to portray through this confusing, uninteresting storyline. It appears to be a battle of conservatism versus liberalism as expressed through not just the campaigns for mayor, but also an attempt to tie in international and gay culture tolerance. All the meanwhile random zombies are tearing off faces and taking over the town. Even a dinner with mom turns into slapstick gay humor when her son attempts to come out to her and she turns into a zombie. From there the remainder of the scene is the gay son and his partner trying to figure out what to do with her as she hangs on the wall with a fireplace iron through her torso.

I don't understand the reference to "Shawn of the Dead", as this movie does not seem humorous at all. It seems that the director attempted to make a serious political message within the context of the movie and failed miserably. So, to counter this, the producer has no choice but to try and sell it as comedy. In reality, the only thing funny about this movie is the laugh you will get at just how horrible this movie is and how you can not believe you actually spent money on it at all.

Second Best Horrorfest Movie Ever...

After Dark Horrorfest movies are usually enjoyable if you have a boring evening to kill, but they rarely are movies worth buying or watching more than one time. That's not true with Zombies of Mass Destruction. I enjoyed the inclusion of Muslim and gay characters in a genre that often ignores both groups of people completely. This movie isn't going to win an Oscar (and it certainly isn't as good as Shaun of the Dead), but as far as Horrorfest movies go this is one of the best ever. The only other two Horrorfest movies I would highly recommend are Mulberry Street and The Hamiltons (and I've seen every film in the series, for better and for worst). Give this one a chance. It's a good movie to watch with friends.

Amuzing!

I'm from the Pacific Northwest and I could see that alot of local people got to play zombies in the movie! I think they had fun.
Now its not as good as Shaun of the dead but it is funny.
My favorite line,"don't shoot I'm gay!"
