Plot Summary
An aspiring screenwriter’s dreams turn into nightmares in the post divorce romantic comedy, After You. Dreams of the big time prompt aspiring writer David Mills to move from New York to Los Angeles where he meets and falls in love with Angela, a cosmetologist visiting from France. After a whirlwind romance the two marry, afterwards adding a son, Miles. Five years later, Angela, tired of playing second fiddle to David’s career, which hasn’t exactly turned out as planned, leaves him. David is suddenly forced to adjust to life as a single dad in Los Angeles where his commitment to his career and son, Miles, are soon put to the test. With the help of his best friend and confidant Chuck, the last guy he should take relationship advice from, and Richard, David’s new neighbor who just might be in the witness protection program, David manages to slowly wade through the shallow end of the dating pool. Meanwhile, David tries to balance the rest of his time between tracking down Jerry, a wily producer who holds the keys to David’s future, and Miles, who is growing up right before his eyes!
