Plot Summary
Afternoon Delight follows Rachel (Kathryn Hahn - Step Brothers, We're the Millers), a quick-witted yet tightly coiled thirty-something bored with her daily routine of preschool auctions, a lackluster sex life and a career that has gone kaput. Looking to spice up her marriage, Rachel takes her husband, Jeff (Josh Radnor, How I Met Your Mother, Liberal Arts), to a strip club and meets McKenna (Juno Temple - Killer Joe, The Dark Knight Rises), a stripper she becomes obsessed with saving. Rachel adopts McKenna as her live-in nanny, wreaking havoc on her friends, family and herself.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Whether or not you wince, this meticulously acted movie, which won Ms. Soloway a directing award at the Sundance Film Festival, paints an accurate picture of how a segment of youngish, educated, affluent, white Americans converse.
Fresh: As the sweetly amoral tattooed-goddess-for-hire, Temple does her wiliest acting yet.
Fresh: It's an up-and-down movie, honest one minute and a fraud the next, but you stick with it mainly because of Hahn.
Rotten: There are some bright one-liners in the beginning, but the comedy/drama mix is an uneasy one, especially considering the shabby way the film treats McKenna, as a tart who's just there to improve some yuppie sex lives.

What the he%^ did I just watch?
This movie was not funny. It didn't make sense. It didn't draw sympathy. In fact it was frequently painfully awkward. It had the redeeming quality of being like a train wreck that you watch out of a morbid curiosity. Do not waste your time or money on this nonsensical film. No, no no!
There's a reason Quentin Tarantino selected this as one of the great films of 2013
There's a reason Quentin Tarantino selected this as one of the great films of 2013. There is also a reason it won the Sundance directors award and was nominated for a screenwriting Spirit Award….because it is AWESOME! I loved this movie. Kathryn Hahn is brilliant in it and Juno Temple is super weird and sexy in it. This is a movie worth watching more than once.
Fizzles and fails
Was really looking forward to seeing Hahn and Lynch in a new movie. Was really disappointed that the movie gave no opportunities for these two to showcase their enormous comedic talent. I could barely watch it, “skim” watched most of it waiting for it to get good. It didn’t. It just got worse and worse. Sadly, I cannot recommend it.
