Customer Reviews

Great actors delivering realistic performances.

I really liked this little film! I saw the 20 minute version on BET awhile back, but this version is almost twice as long and really fleshes out the plot. I was a big fan of James Kyson Lee when he played Ando on HEROES and dug his guest spot on HAWAII FIVE-O, but had never seen the girl before. Emayatzy Corinealdi brings good looks, rhymes and vulnerability to her role as Daphne. A Google search shows she has a feature film coming out this year, "Middle of Nowhere" with Omari Hardwick, that I'm really looking forward too now. Definitely worth a look!

Unique and charming

I thoroughly enjoyed this film! Not only is it a fresh take on romance (featuring a romantic pairing rarely seen in the media), but the writing, directing, and acting are all top-notch. James Kyson Lee and Emayatzy Corinealdi have recently made names for themselves in film and television, and here you can see them on the eve of that success.

This is a very original film that is highly recommended.

Solid Love Story...

Not really big on the love stories, but this movie handled the realities of a modern interracial romance between a black female and an asian male very maturely. You don't often see Asian men as romantic leads, and especially not paired with black women. However, the director - who also appears to be the writer - kept the balance between drama and comedy pretty entertaining without feeling like fluff. Lead actress Emayatzy Corinealdi and James Kyson Lee have a fantastic chemistry...which really made me wish that this was a full-length feature! Solid movie!
