Plot Summary
Abandoned by her father as a child, the independent twenty-one-year-old Alice is accustomed to men being unpredictable, but Jack Chase is something else. Just moments after surprising her with a rare family ring, he's suddenly kidnapped by two thugs and driven into darkness. It is then that Alice is confronted by a sharply dressed stranger who calls himself White Rabbit, and who promises to know more about Jack than she. Alice follows him through the liquid glass of an ornate mirror and lands in Wonderland, an outlandish underground city of twisted towers and parapets, staircases conceived in a Dali dream, and an otherworldly purple horizon. Soon, the word is out that Wonderland has its most prized captive. It seems Alice has the ring that controls the looking glass - the key to the power of the Queen of Hearts. It was mad folly for her son Jack to give it to a girl he barely knew. But Jack had his reasons. Discovering them is up to Alice.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: You're left with a woman whose main quest is unsuccessful, and a movie that's glum, long and devoid of any sense of wonder.
Rotten: What ultimately sinks Alice is that it is too normal.
Rotten: Despite these diversions and whiz-bang special effects, the movie drags at times.
Rotten: In pursuit of political correctness we get an Alice who beats up a knife-toting pirate after first warning him, "Don't even think about it, buddy!"

A Real Journey to a New Wonderland
This is an Alice in Wonderland for this century. It hold all the charm and wonder of Carroll"s novels and all the excitement of an inspiring Scifi story. Some would say that the Syfy channel is cursed and they can't produce great made for tv movies but this is like no other Syfy movies on tv that I have seen, and trust me I've seen a lot. Lets start by addressing the visuals of this movie, the surroundings are believable and yet they bring a sense of wonder that only Wonderland possesses. The visual effects are nearly invisible, the quality of this movie is so excellent that it should have been sent to the big screen. Secondly Acting, the cast of this film may not be know to everyone but they are of some of the highest quality out there, they aren't recognized as A listers but they have made names for themselves. I will only go into detail on just one of these fabulous actors. Andrew Lee Potts, he is a British actor and has done a large body of work in theatre and television not to mention other feature films. He has most recently stared in a TV Show that not only aired for three season in the Uk but also here in the States. If you love classic literature and like your scifi fantasy rich then this is a must for you. My five star rating is not given lightly. This movie stand strong like its inspirational character Alice who has stayed with us all these years as one of the strongest female literay character of all time. Alice is no Disney Princess but she is an icon for women.
So let's jump through the looking glass one more time and follow the White Rabbit down the hole to see what's brewing at the Mad Hatters tea party, but beware of what you eat and drink it may change you more then you expect.
An Amazing Look Through the Looking Glass
This version of Wonderland isn't your mother's! It's packed with romance, action and a robotic white rabbit (the March Hare). The story is amazing and i've watched it about 7 times now. I just can't stop. Alice is amazing and pretty (also, SHE'S A BRUNETTE!!!) Hatter is as well a pull into the story, creating a love intrest in contrast to Jack Heart.
In the end, this is a great mini-movie!
Get it especially if you liked "Tin Man" by Nick Willing in 2007
a darker alice
in this alice many things change and it's simply amazing. i give this movie two thumbs up! ;)
