Plot Summary

In Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, the iconic creatures from two of the scariest film franchises in movie history wage their most brutal battle ever - in our own backyard. The small town of Gunnison, Colorado becomes a war zone between two of the deadliest extra-terrestrial life forms - the Alien and the Predator. When a Predator scout ship crash-lands in the hills outside the town, Alien Facehuggers and a hybrid Alien/Predator are released and begin to terrorize the town.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The action is rendered with such disconcertingly low light levels -- and of course there is heavy rain for the climatic sequences -- that it can be a strain to simply see what is occurring on-screen. Then again, maybe that's for the best. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: So lacking in imagination is this movie that the Brothers Strause and writer Shane Salerno keep scrambling back to the original movie for inspiration. – Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The problems with the movie are twofold and easy to spot: the acting stinks and you can't understand what's going on. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Ho, ho, ho -- the joke's on anyone who pays to see this. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Jun 24, 2010

Failed to meet expectations!!

This new AVP movie was disappointing. It looks like two directors is definitely not better than one. This poor film stripped the genius work of the films before it. Instead of making a smart sci-fi movie, they went for the gore. First mistake: Having the aliens revolve around teenagers. Why is it that they have to put teens in the mix. This just makes the film very predictable. Second mistake: There's no good storyline. They could have gone into so many different directions. They should of just taken the film to the Predator's planet at least to coincide with the title. Third mistake: This film is way too dark. What is it with these modern movies and all the darkness. How is someone suppose to be scared if they cant see the aliens. This problem occured throughout the ENTIRE film. I could barely see the Predalien. The only time the film was visible was when the predator used the night vision! Very ridiculous move. Fourth mistake: The directors failed to do justice to the franchise. I was hoping Paul W.S. Anderson or the other great directors would return to save the film. Fifth mistake: The title. They couldnt come up with something better? Well theres actually many other mistakes but I wont bother to mention them. Dont bother to buy or rent. Just borrow it from someone else. Actually go rent ALIENS & PREDATOR. They are WAY better.

not direct to DVD.....horrible

The reviewer above me is greatly mistaken, or they are just having fun. Either way, this movie is a disgrace to both franchises. Just as the previous AvP, this film rips the soul out of two of the most beloved sci-fi/ horror genre films ever created.

a slap in the face to what a predator movie was meant to be.

i was at my local grocery store and i saw this movie sitting on the movie rack. i picked it up, not with the intention of buying, but out of curiosity. i'm looking at it when a guy stacking cigarets behind a nearby counter tells me that it's a good movie. so i figure i'll buy it, seeing as how i was slightly interested in the first place. when i get home and pop it into my dvd player, i got about fifteen minutes into it before desciding that i didn't like it, but had to watch the rest of it, simply for the laugh factor. there are far too many horror movie cliche's, and the scenes in the dark dont go anywhere fast. i found myself loosing interest as the predator was searching for the aliens in the sewer. i also greatly disliked the fact that the townspeople were so quick to call in the national guard, even though nothing real big had happened yet. that's like me calling in the military because my power pole outside has fallen and is now sparking all over the place. this is one movie i think you SHOULD be able to rent.
