A Flood of Feelings
The film pushes every button about aging, whether you are aging, you have aging parents or are impacted by an aging friend. You are confronted by all the prejudices, discomforts and fears about the inescapable fact of growing older. It is a bitter sweet film. You grow to know and see the aging in an entirely new way, which is what the staff at St. Johns is trying to do. In this respect it is a valuable work. It is also good to look our fears in the face and find that it is not so fearsome, that the aging have great dignity in the face of impossible odds. That under the shrinking, shaking, degenerating bodies and minds, are amazing hearts and the enduring urge to life. It is worth the watch, because it is the truth and the truth is good to know.
