Plot Summary

A marine patrol secretly lands on the Japanese-occupied island of Siarago. Their mission: to locate a Japanese-American girl with vital information concerning General MacArthur's pending Philippine invasion. What they uncover instead is a Japanese plot to detonate underwater mines as the US fleet enters the bay. Cut off from outside communication, these brave marines must find a way to prevent what could be the worst naval tragedy from ever happening.

awesome

awesome movie wonderfully written

Poor Photography

Although the story is pretty good, the acting and photography is poor.

Almost the worst

I've seen a bunch of WWII movies. This is one of the most god awful ones out there. The plot is completely impossible and all the encounters with the Japanese soldiers are completely predictable. The acting is painful to watch. Hugh O' Brian shows the emotional range of a tectonic plate. James Mitchum is this whiney guy who bumbles about in the middle of Japanese infested jungle wearing a RED CAP like it was the first day of deer season, and he survives! The only reason I actually was able to sit through this film is that I was in bed with the flu and it took my mind off the shaking chills.
