Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: This man and woman are so silly, and their story of fated love so goopy. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 7, 2011

Rotten: A good-looking but slim confection that's short on the multi-characterisation and sense of entwined destinies that mark the great Lelouch sagas. – Derek Elley, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Charming, glamorous, emotionally suggestive but slight. – Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: It's silly the way hope, optimism and love are silly: silly and rather wonderful. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 1, 2003

Sub titles on an Ipod???

Did not realize this is a sub-titled movie. Not too bad in the beginning, but towards the end the entire dialogue is subtitled. Not easy to read off the ipod. As far as the story goes - I would prefer to have bought "To Catch a Thief". Not worth $9.99

And Now..... Ladies and Gentleman

Beutifully wriiten, acted and filmed. Jeremy Irons breaks out of his more historical roles to my delight.

Eh...

In one word...eh. The plot wasn't predictable, but somehow I left this movie more bored than when I entered into it. It tries to be deep but fails because the characters never fully open up to their full potential. While viewers might have lost some key ideas by error of translation, I feel that there just wasn't a whole lot to be translated in the first place.
