Plot Summary
Anne Perry is one of the leading authors of our time. She specialises in crime novels and is famous worldwide. But her books hide a very real tale of murder and everlasting regret. Since she was 15 years old, Anne has carried an awful secret, a story of a young murderer forever trying to get beyond her terrible deed. This intimate documentary enters the inner sanctum of Anne's reclusive life. A powerful documentary about the burden of guilt, in which the real story emerges as a powerful growing veneer, a haunting skin taking over the immediate narrative. The viewer will be left pondering this story weeks after the viewing.

Extremely Disappointing
This was the most diappointing documentary I have ever seen. After watching "Heavenly Creatures" with Kate Winslet, I was very curious to learn about the murder from the woman herself and to hear her side of the story, so to speak. Unfortunately, this documentary spends more time showing pictures of the Scotland landscape and her house than actually interviewing anyone. Futhermore, when some IS finally interviewed, more often than not, it is one of her friends who talk about how they don't speak of the incident and how poor Anne is unhappy in life. In this 1:11:00 movie, there are about 2-3 minutes where she actually talks about the "incident" herself. I do NOT recommend this movie to anyone who wishes to learn more about the Hulme-Parker case in 1954. Now, if you want to look at 1:11:00 worth of photo shots of Scotland and the woman's house with the same piano tune over and over agian, then this is your movie.
