Plot Summary
Following the highly successful anime feature "Appleseed," heroine Deunan and her lover/partner Briareos -- who was forced to become a cyborg after sustaining injuries as a soldier in World War III -- continue their struggle to maintain peace in the utopian city-nation of Olympus. However, the arrival of a new "bioroid," Tereus, causes some tension between the two, since Tereus was created using Briareos' DNA and inherited some of Briareos' personality, including his affection for Deunan. But Duenan must overcome this distraction and focus on defending Olympus from attacks by cyborg terrorists if she wants any chance of saving mankind from having to live under tyrannical cyborg rule. Amazing and Spectacular!!!
Appleseed was mind-blowing, and Appleseed Ex Machina is no let down. It's still just as hardcore and action packed as before with just a bit more of background that Appleseed left out. Totally worth seeing again and again!!!!

Excellent movie! Others, please don't rate on your beliefs of "I want to buy it", "I can go to blockbuster", etc. People use the ratings as critiques of the movies not your posturing. Please respect that - this is not the place for these type of comments and bringing the the movie rating lower because of this nonsense. THX
A great improvement over the first Appleseed
If you liked the first Appleseed you will defiantly like this one. Improvements in the story line and plot make it feel less cheesy then the first one did at times. There has also been improvements in the CG animation that make it look more real than the first. This is a good movie to rent if you need something with action.
