Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Is the whole thing too exhausting? It's a question of how much you can take. We not only took it but found it most amusing.
Fresh: The wonder is that this Polyphemus of productions does not simply collapse of its own overweight; but, thanks principally to Showman Todd, the picture skips along with an amazing lightness.
Fresh: With a smash lineup of stars in major and minor parts, Todd has turned out a surefire hit.
Rotten: Proof that you can buy an Academy Award.

Around the World in 80 Days
I saw this as a 7 year old and have remembered it since then. I've seen it a couple of times since and am still in love with the romance of a helter-skelter race around the world. David Niven and his old fashioned British pomp, these are all actors who are so natural and smooth that you can let your guard down and enjoy the movie without the feeling there is a horrible twist around the corner. This movie was made when the whole frame was in focus not just the central characters, everybody and everything is clear, the scenery and props are real, It's just like you are there in the crowd watching. The music is fitting for the light hearted theme. Cantinfloss is the latin equivalent of a Marx brother. I recommend this movie as a family movie that will give children a real view of foreign countries, not the danger but the real beauty and grandeur of their past.
