Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The world may be going Mad Men, but Doug Pray's documentary Art & Copy presents a very different picture of the advertising industry. – Mike Hale, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: An entertaining but also oddly naive documentary about American advertising. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Everyone quoted here, and perhaps Pray himself, wants to be seen as an artist. But in this economy, those of us who pay for ordinary stuff might not be so inclined to worship this particular art form. – Brian Miller, Village Voice, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: When all is said and done, Art & Copy is little more than an ad for advertising. – V.A. Musetto, New York Post, Jul 7, 2010

Excellent!

Very good summary of Advertising & America. I will show this to my marketing students as another perspective.
Flows great and done well!!

I hate advertising and advertisements, but...

I love this movie. I tend to think of most ads as distracting trash in our society. But this documentary actually shows the artists who are not just out to sell products but change the way we view/interact with the world. it was refreshing and interesting.

Incredibly Inspirational, as an Aspiring Copywriter

If you, yourself are an aspiring copywriter or art director, I encourage that you watch this documentary. Oh, and keep a note pad handy because odds are your creative juices won't wait until the final credits to start flowing!
