Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Like so much of current polarized communication, "Assaulted," wherever it is shown, is likely to be preaching to the choir. – Anita Gates, New York Times, Jul 11, 2013

Fresh: The almost-complete absence of dissenting voices will likely limit its audience to gun-toting members of the choir, though anyone with an interest in the subject would be well-served by hearing its arguments. – Glenn Whipp, Los Angeles Times, Jun 19, 2013

Fresh: A surprisingly thoughtful, well-researched attempt to give both sides of the argument respect while illuminating the long history of tensions surrounding gun ownership in America. – Ernest Hardy, Village Voice, Jul 10, 2013

Rotten: The documentary is predictable, stylistically stolid and about as focused as a pellet-gun blast. – Mark Jenkins, Washington Post, Jun 27, 2013

WOW! Just Wow! I learned something here.

I'm a Veteran, a gun owner, a licenced concealed carrier, and even I learned something from this film that I didn't already know. From The War of Athens, to the Rodney King riots, to the Hurricaine Katrina aftermath, this is rich in testimonies and details. Please buy or rent this. It is straight and spot on in the subject of our second amendment, and why it is vitally important to every American. OH! And, watch it through the credits. Nice afterthought from Mr. Ice T.

Finally!

I heard great things about this film when it was in theaters but never had a chance to go see it until a recent showing in San Diego. I was a little worried that it had been over hyped to me but the film did not disappoint.

This film dives into the issue of gun control from a completely different perspective then the main stream media and presents an argument against it that is hard to argue with. I consider myself well versed on the subject but I learned so much from this film. Most importantly, its incredibly entertaining and Ice T is an awesome narrator. I'm so excited that I can finally show it to my friends and family that think gun control is a good idea, the truth will shock them!

If you are a gun rights supporter, you need to see this film. If you are on the fence about gun control, you need to see this film. If you are pro-gun control, proceed with caution, your whole world might change by the time it's over.

Enlightening

This film finally treats the subject of gun violence with fact and not emotion. Highly recommend regardless of your view of guns in our society.
