At Home Among Strangers, A Stranger Among His Own

Plot Summary

The debut of Academy Award Winner Nikita Mikhalkov set right after the Civil War in the 20's in a small provincial town. A gang of former white officers and small-time thugs robs a train transporting gold that was supposed to buy food for the starving people. Five friends that used to be in the Red Army together suspect one of them to be a rat. Now he's a stranger among his own, and the only thing that can save him is the stolen gold that he needs to find at all costs.
