Customer Reviews

Mixed feelings.

I enjoyed her books when I was younger, but they lost their charm. I was turned off by Objectivism's objective value theory (esp. Peikoff's distillation), though I accept her natural law base and her basic axioms of neo-Aristotelianism. Nevertheless, her essays in Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal are soooooo dead-on, so flawless, and so deep, that I cannot hold much of a grudge. She was a genius, and her co-optation by the neocons (in point of rhetoric instead of action) in recent years was an insult to what she stood for.

Unique in every way….!!

Today, Ayn Rand is most likely read only in college, many in today’s generation have never heard of her. This documentary is very revealing due to the actual interview recordings of Rand…and for the films short length, you get a good feel for the philosophy and values she presented through her writings. A view of life and Capitalism many today could not wrap their head around…Having lived in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution, two world wars, and making it on her own in America…amazing. Recommended!!!
