Plot Summary
Set in what Novelist and Philosopher Ayn Rand called "the day after tomorrow," Atlas Shrugged depicts an America in crisis, brought to her knees by a corrupt establishment of government regulators and businessmen with political pull - the "looters" and the "moochers" - who prey on individual achievement. Ayn Rand and the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged looks into Rand's background for the ideas and philosophy that inspired and shaped her novel and seeks to determine whether America is indeed headed for the disastrous outcome she predicted.

Woman Behind the Story
Gives an in-depth look at the woman behind one of the most influential and controversial novels of all-time, "Atlas Shrugged."
"Ayn Rand and the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged" walks the viewer through what events happened throughout Rand's life that influenced her beliefs and inspired her to write "Atlas Shrugged." Definitely a must-see for those that have read the book - and even more so if you're a believer.
Ayn Rands Magnum Opus was Prophetic.
If you've ever read any of her novels or works of philosophical exposition, then this is by all accounts a documentary that simply cannot be missed.
I had no idea just how difficult Mrs. Rand found it to get her novels published at a time where many of Americas ivory tower intellectuals viewed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic as a bastion of reason applied to government. It broke my heart to see her face such mind numbingly banal sneers from the gate keepers of opinion in response to what was in retrospect her magnum opus.
Atlas Shrugged was written by Ayn Rand as a warning cry, and not as prophecy. So many in the media at that time (1950's) simply turned a blind eye to Russia's gulags and mass exterminations. Even today - 'Progressives' will not admit the Joseph Stalin's collectivization led to the death of millions more than Hitler and that NAZI means National Socialist.
Watch this after you have viewed 'Dreams of my REAL Father', and you will be shaken to the core.
Great Work
This is a great video which does a good job explaining Rands history and how the book is relevant today.
