Plot Summary

In this critically acclaimed motion picture, John Lithgow (Footloose, Terms of Endearment) and Mary Beth Hurt (Interiors, The World According to Garp) star as the anguished parents of a severely premature infant. Everything seems to be perfect in Wendy (Mary Beth Hurt) and Neil's life (John Lithgow) - they have a new house and a baby on the way - until one night, Wendy is rushed to hospital and doctors are forced to deliver her baby prematurely. The baby, weighing just 20 ounces, is born severely brain damaged and handicapped. Doctors initially hold out little hope of the baby surviving the week. But when the baby, Katie, is transferred to a specialist unit, a pediatrician suggests that there is a good chance that the baby can survive and recover from some of its illnesses.

Customer Reviews

Great Movie!

"Baby Girl Scott" is a both a powerful and troubling movie to watch! Be prepared for a very emotional movie watching experience! The acting was so convincing that I felt like I was enduring the painful circumstances with the parents in the movie. I would recommend that everyone watch this movie because of the important life and death issues that come up.
