Plot Summary

He has survived on the streets for twenty years. He's a gambler...a thief...a junkie...a killer and a cop. Now he's investigating the most shocking case of his life, and as he moves closer to the truth his self-destructive past is closing in. Harvey Keitel gives a searing performance as an out-of-control police detective on a collision course with disaster in director Abel Ferrara's brilliant and deeply disturbing melodrama.

Lame.

This is the edited version with five minutes cut out. Rent the NC-17 version on Netflix or your local independent video store.

Great....but cut

This is a great, great film. But do be aware that this is a cut version available on iTunes. The shocking scene where Keitel stops the two teenage girls in their car has been particularly harshly cut, presumably for a TV audience.

Amazing.

This is in the true spirt of independent films. Harvey Keitel gives a beautiful showboat of a performance in this film. He is simply amazing, as is the story of self destruction and redemption. I would not reccomend this version though, if you truly want to subject yourself to this brilliant piece of art, you need to check out the NC-17 version.
