Plot Summary

It's time to set sail with Barbie as The Island Princess in this full-length, original musical featuring nine fantastic new songs. After being shipwrecked on an island as a little girl, Rosella (Barbie) grows up learning to talk and sing with a family of loving animals: the red panda Sagi, the peacock Azul and the baby elephant Tika. But when Prince Antonio discovers their tropical paradise, curiosity about her past leads Rosella to journey with the prince to his castle. As she and her animal friends explore civilization, they uncover an evil plot to take over the kingdom! Through its heart-warming ending, Barbie as the Island Princess shows that when love guides you, miracles may be closer than you know.

Great Movie for Girls and Moms, Too

This was the first Barbie movie I watched with my daughter. The music is both fun and beautiful. The storyline is enchanting and easy to follow for young girls, and not so saccharin that adults cringe. The predominant theme through this and the other Barbie movies is about being true to who you are and having integrity. And that is definitely something I want influencing my daughter. I plan on getting more Barbie movies for my daughter as she grows up, but I'm keeping her away from those Bratz dolls.

Just because it's Barbie :)

personally, i think they are cute movies for younger girls. so barbie is totally perfect and always wins, but the movie has humor little girls wouldn't get. I like the movies and they are encouraging i guess to little girls( as barbie always days beleive in yourself) :)

Just remember this was your idea!

And at the end Azul is like: I'm so glad this was my idea! Great Movie! My fave part: "I think you should lose the silly nest thing!" " NO WAY!!!!!" Highlights of Antonio: 1. Land Ho! 2. Ro, Ro wait! Tallulah: Don't be ridiculous! Not the Pigs, anything but the Pigs!!! This is just fairly predictable like all Barbie Movies.
