Plot Summary

A hard-hitting, realistic drama of Marine Corps heroism in the Pacific theater of WWII. Director Raoul Walsh ("The Naked And The Dead") captures war in all its aspects, from basic training to the ultimate test of battle. He also portrays the other side of war exploring the stories of the women who remain behind, waiting for their men to return. Based on the novel by Leon Uris ("Exodus").

I have loved this movie since it first came out. It is a very well done look at a group of young men fighting for their country and the people who love them.

really good

i just watched this movie and it was so good. too bad most of those actors are dead or old , some of them were cute a great old movie!
