Terrible

Terrible…….Just TERRIBLE!!!!!!!

Amazing!

This is a great representation of the Ottoman triumph. It is an amazing mixture of kingdom of heaven, 300, and Troy!

Not Bad, But Could Have Been Better

Good production quality, excellent wardrobe, good CGIs (except for the creepy eagle at the beginning) --- worth watching given that it is the highest grossing Turkish film of all time and the most expensive to produce, and has spurred nationalism since it came out in 2012. I give it a B- as a grade. But I HATED how contrived and stilted the dubbed version is, I'd much rather see it in the original Turkish and read subtitles because the dialogue is not only fake and difficult to hear sometimes, but the quality of voices and the American accent throws me off and minimizes the historicity big time, as the movie already suffers from some historical inaccuracies such as omitting the looting and killing of civilians for 3 days and how benevolent Mehmet seems as he enters Hagia Sophia which is sheltering Byzantine Christian refugees. Mehmet may have been young, but this one is a pouty, whiny, impulsive wannabe man -- I appreciate the effort to bring one of history's most important moments on screen but it could have been much better as this was pretty much a propaganda film for Turks and Muslims.
