Plot Summary
Jack Black and Mos Def star in Be Kind Rewind, a unique comedy from Academy Award-winning writer/director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Black stars as a lovable loser stuck in a life that's too small for his big dreams. But when he unintentionally erases all the tapes in a video store where his best friend works, he devises a plan to satisfy the store's few loyal customers by re-creating and re-filming every movie they decide to rent.

Love it or Hate it
With this movie you either love it or hate. Personally I loved it. The plot was really clever (magnitizing tapes!!!=awesome). Jack Black and Mos def had perfect chemistry. The ghost busters spoof was probably one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen. The only disappointment of this movie though would of had to of been the ending. Otherwise this is a movie totally worth seeing.
One of the most creative comedies in years!
I saw this movie at an advanced screening and two more times last night and today because my roomate works at a video store and gets the movies before they come out. I had some pre-conceived notions that this was another quriky comedy with Jack Black where uses his facial expressions and improv to buff up the jokes. It, however, was so much more. This movie has heart which is matched only by the endless comedy. Truly one of the most original movies I've seen.
MUST WATCH IF YOU ARE A MOVIE NERD!!
There will be so much you recognize while they're going through this movie. I originally went to see it in theatres only because of the Ghostbusters scene. But I was so surprised as to how funny the movie really was. Plus it had heart. Be Kind Rewind is not just about the laughs...it's about heart and passion. Plus it's really funny! Enjoy!
