Plot Summary
Courtney Love stars as Joan Vollmer, the second wife of writer William S. Burroughs (Keifer Sutherland), in this picturesque look at death and travel among a group of travelling college students who would go on to become the best-known of the "Beat" writers. From their early college years to becoming expatriates in Mexico, William and his wife Joan are haunted by the murder of a friend in college by another one of their closest friends. Their obsessive love eventually pushes them to the limits and once again murder is part of their legacy.

Fresh: Ron Livingston is excellent as Ginsberg, the film's de facto narrator, and Kiefer Sutherland is admirably restrained in the role of Burroughs.

I was Beat
As the title says, I was Beat. I enjoyed the film to the end. Glad I stumbled across this movie! I would watch it again--and have. The story is interesting, and the scenery and period of the film is a job well done. You got my thumbs up!
i love this movie..
this has to be one of my fav courtney love movies and 200 cigs was a number one for me as well, but honestly ive loved all her films and music. Beat is great cause you really get into the entire story and ALL the actors are amazing and you really care for each one of them even if there charector is good or bad. soooo good!!
