Plot Summary
Venezuela has won more international beauty pageants than any other country. With 6 Miss International crowns, 6 Miss World crowns, and 6 Miss Universe crowns, what is it that makes Venezuelan beauty queens so special? Beauty Factory follows five contestants over the course of four months as they compete for the coveted Miss Venezuela crown; offering an intimate look into the world of beauty, and the sometimes-ugly things people do to be a part of it. This film will take you behind the scenes as the girls are told how much weight they must lose, how big their breasts should be, what diet fits them, the length and color of their hair, their gym routine and even what plastic surgeries they need to get. For many of them, the ultimate goal isn’t to be crowned Miss Venezuela, or even Miss Universe. These are smart, savvy women using their beauty as a launchpad for something greater. But how far will these girls go to succeed?

Good doc
I enjoyed this documentary. The subject is well explored and well put together for an independent production.
touching story of 5 girls dedication to achieve their dream
This documentary was a surprisingly wonderful insight into what it takes to become Miss Venezuela. It is an intimate portrait into the dreams, fears and obstacles the young woman have to overcome in a country crippled with crime, poverty, prejudice and limited opportunities they find opportunities in competing in the countries most competitive forum in order to get exposure in hopes of launching their careers.
The directors did a wonderful job of connecting with their cast as everyone is this documentary is heart felt and sincere which makes the time fly by. You are made to feel as though you are part of the Miss Venezuela Family.
Towards the end you are so wrapped up in the contest everyone in my family had a favorite and we were cheering for her to win sitting on the edge of our seats towards the final night.
I truly enjoyed watching this documentary and recommend it for anyone who likes a solid heartfelt story.
