Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: A far-fetched romantic adventure.
Rotten: A melodrama with pretensions to humanitarian generosity.
Rotten: It all becomes little more than feel-good-about- feeling-bad window dressing, like an issue of Utne Reader in Dolby Surround Sound.
Rotten: Beyond Borders is a film with its heart in the right place. Unfortunately, its head is stuck so far in the clouds that it dissolves into preachy do-gooder mush.

Riveting
I had picked up this movie on a whim at Blockbuster, not expecting it to have me glued to the TV screen 2 hours later. This film is absolutely wonderful, filled with love, action, and an awesome storyline. I became attached to Nick (Clive Owen) and couldn't help but fall in love with his character, too ... Angelina Jolie gives a rare performance, one where she isn't kicking someone else's butt (except Nick's, one time). Incredibly stunning and leaves you on edge until the very last moment. I would recommend this movie to anyone! Beware of the F word, though. Nick likes to use it frequently. :)
Get it!
I typically avoid films like this anticipating that I will walk away feeling lectured and (even worse) depressed. This is not that movie. The acting is out of this world. Clive Owen is is transcendent. Angelina gives a (surprisingly typical) great, deep, soulful performance. It is not perfect, but very close. It makes you want to run out and join the Peace Corps.
Prepare to be touched
I cannot put into words how much this film will move you. I usually am not inclined to watch movies like this for fear it will be like a daunting documentary. This is not the case. It truly leaves you changed, giving insight towards the people who dedicate their lives to help others regardless of politics or danger.
