Plot Summary

In the tradition of The Sixth Sense and The Omen comes this riveting supernatural thriller filled with spine-tingling chills and white-knuckle suspense. Academy Award®-winner Kim Basinger stars as Maggie O'Connor, a single woman whose life revolves around her career as a nurse-until the surprise appearance of her sister Jenna (Angela Bettis) and Jenna's newborn baby girl, Cody. When Jenna suddenly disappears, Maggie is left to raise Cody (Holliston Coleman), an autistic child, by herself. But after Jenna returns with a mysterious cult leader (Rufus Sewell) and abducts Cody, Maggie discovers that the child possesses extraordinary powers that forces of evil have waited centuries to control. Together with a FBI specialist in occult-related crimes (Jimmy Smits), Maggie races to save the life of the innocent girl who may hold the key to save mankind -- or destroy it. Costarring Christina Ricci and Ian Holm, Bless the Child is a thrilling offering for film fans.

Amazing!

I love this movie so much. I actually have a director's version of it on video, and was just browsering iTunes movies, and was surprised to find this. It is quite remarkable. The directing is amazing, expecially with the demons. ^o^ It really shows the interesting conflict between Christianity and a left-hand path religion. Even if you are not religious, which I certainly am not, this movie is quite entertaining. And it has Ricci in it! I love her! xD So, please, buy and watch this movie! PS: It is obviously very controversial. In the beginning, it curses alot and has drugs, but the most of it is just religion. Like I said, though, even if you are not religious, you will still very much enjoy it, I suspect!

He hasn't forgotten you.

This movie shows prayer as a force to be reckoned with. Angels, good and evil, affect the lives of the characters through the movie. If you believe in a Higher Power, this movie will have a strong positive effect. This movie has minor cussing and a bit of very brief violence but mostly it's just a well built thriller that keeps you locked in to the plot. I actually liked the characters and for me that's hard with Kim Basinger. I love this movie it's in my top 10. The first night I saw it on HBO I went out and bought 2 copies (so I could lend one) and yes... I've lost them both now. But man ... the rosary is such a beautiful plot device in this movie. I get nightmares from horror movie commercials and I loved the power play that unfolds in this movie. I hope you like it as much as I did. It's one of those movie I just really want other people to go see. I can't believe it got an R rating. The question raised of "Is there a god?' is a timely one. I think the makers of this film entertained in a very smart and incisive manor. Enjoy with my compliments,

Really good if you know how to pray well

The first time I saw this movie I was like not ready. I needed way more practice in sunday school to understand. The more I prayed the more I understood until finally, I understood the movie. By the time I was ready to watch the movie again I blessed this child so hard it wasn't even funny
