The search for a Blue Tiger

A mother that dotes on her five year old son happens to be in a pharmacy looking for Halloween items for her son in California in little Tokyo. Her son is shot in the chest as an innocent bystander in a turf war that takes place in the pharmacy. The mother (Virginia Madsen) cannot cry over her son's premature death and tries to recall anything she can about the person who killed her son. The only thing she has to go on is a glimpse of a tattoo because the shooter was wearing a mask. The movie takes a few twists and she is eventually rewarded with vengeance. But at what cost to her soul?

Harry Dean Stanton isn't enough

Harry D. Stanton almost saves this movie. His scenes provide the only zip in this woodenly acted and poorly scripted potboiler. The cross over of Japanese and western gangster cultures should have been interesting, but it was better and more convincingly portrayed in Black Rain, The Yakuza, and even Rising Sun.
