Plot Summary
Featuring Tony Hawk and directed by Stacy Peralta (Dogtown and Z-Boys, Riding Giants), the film is a very personal story of how sheer talent, skill, passion and the belief that anything is possible transformed skateboarding from a fringe pastime to a thrilling action sport filled with extraordinary gravity defying feats as well as a billion dollar industry. The Bones Brigade is the team they formed that revolutionized not only their lives, but international pop culture as well. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

A really good documentary
This is a documentary about 6 of the most important/iconic skateboarders of the 80’s, and that industry has ever seen. Two of which were some of the greatest, most innovative skateboarders of all time. You see how the owners built the team, managed the team, the effects the team had on the industry, and the effects the industry (and other skaters) had on them. You see the story told by the skaters themselves, and the other skaters that loved them and hated them. If you grew up right in this time period, you will love this. If you didn’t, it’s worth the watch just to see what they went through to build what they did. Skateboarding means something different to every skater. That’s one of the things that makes it so special. It’s not just about rebellion, it’s about commitment. It’s a way of life, as well as a sport (now). This documentary shows that.

Stop with the fancy words and watch it again. You'll find a lot of deep and meaningful things if you get out of your own way my friend. Personal drama is what makes a documentary great. Especially these guys. These skaters didn't just happen to turn 40 and then all of a sudden there was a documentary 30 years after they started. It's a documentary about a movement and a revolution in a sport that was just kinda sitting there. These kids invented...you understand that word right, invented? They invented tricks and pioneered what IS skateboarding today and what will always be the blueprint for the sport. You didn't see the place where these adults are actually sad that it had to end sometime?
When everything in this world is sudden and right at our finger tips, I think we as a human race forget how to slow down and see where we're going or where we've come from. This doc makes us do that...I'm proud of this film. This era shaped me. And I will always remember that. That's what this doc is about. Holding onto something when there WAS nothing else.
