Plot Summary

Sean (Adam Garcia), a small-town steelworker, realizes a lifelong dream when he's invited to audition for a big city, dance show. Hired, then fired for out-dancing and out-punching the show's star, he returns home only to find his girlfriend (Sophie Lee) in the arms of this brother. Now, with only the remains of his dream to hold on to, he persuades his old tapping mates to form their own dance troupe, much to the embarrassment of his steel-working father. A smart blend of comedy, great dancing and natural energy!

full-monty + STOMP! + coyote ugly + aussie dudes = bootmen

don't expect much here... the story's weak, the actors are lame, and the dancing's so-so. it's basically porn for those who fancy tap, and to be honest, there's not much of a payoff. they save all the best camera tricks at the end showcasing the dancer's tap... HOWEVER, they manage to lame it up by trying to make a bunch of tap-dancing construction dudes, sexy. yeah errr um... no.

there were moments though that i enjoyed, like the solo dance sessions where it was nothing but tap. as mentioned earlier about them fancy camera tricks, similar to skate videos, the camera follows the dancer's movements where all you see are the dancers feet pound against wood and steel, and all you can hear are the different sounds and rhythms he's trying to make. unfortunately these rich quality moments don't last long as a rock band and a bunch of other construction dudes join in the fun where all you hear is the band and all you see are arms and legs flail around like puppets on a string. ...bummer.

anyway, it's not much of a rental nor is it worth to own. although cheap, it's 1.31 gigs, ha, which isn't worth saving on your computer. unless you're like me, and just wanted to see Sam Worthington bring it on and stomp the yard, then maybe it's worth it :-)
