Plot Summary

This film of Ira Levin's novel The Boys from Brazil wastes no time in establishing the fact that several seemingly unrelated men have been mysteriously murdered. Elderly Jewish Nazi hunter Ezra Lieberman (Laurence Olivier), brought into the case when the clues seem to point to a neo-fascist plot, traces the trail of evidence to Paraguay. Here he finds an unregenerate Auschwitz doctor, patterned on Joseph Mengele and played by — of all people — Gregory Peck. Lieberman discovers that the murdered men had all fathered sons who were identical — the results of a cloning experiment, designed to create a race of incipient Hitlers.

Fantastic Movie

This movie was impressive in the extraordinary. I was in awe through most every scene. I've never been so sucked into a movie, let alone a 1978 horror movie. It gave me a new understanding for what the word <<movie>> really means. I am a better person for watching this movie.

Who knows what the Nazis did that never made it into the recorded history? Terrifying to even think.

WOW! Glued to my seat, and did not even want to get up for a bathroom break. If you are even thinking about getting this film, do it, and you won't be disappointed. If only the filmmaking of today was as good, but it seems that it is more profitable to rely on CGI rather then an intricate plot and acting talent. Ignore the previews and strap in for an interesting ride.

Laurence and Gregory at their finest

All actors in this movie are completely captivating. A young Steve Goutenburg plays his part sharply along with great performances by the rest of the supporting cast. The plot is very thick and very intense. I love this movie and Olivier and Peck both deserve tremendous recognition for this movie.
