Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: There are no surprises here, with father-son crisis and reconciliation, scaled-down quasi-Bollywood production numbers and the climactic big game all arriving on cue. – Dennis Harvey, Variety, Sep 26, 2011

Rotten: [A] pleasant timewaster, which has a good cast but a not-so-good script. – Peter Howell, Toronto Star, Sep 30, 2011

Rotten: With a script credited to five writers including its star Vinay Virmani, it is a movie that keeps skating madly off in different directions and desperately needs more coaching than director Robert Lieberman provides. – Kate Taylor, Globe and Mail, Sep 30, 2011

Heartfelt and entertaining

My son brought this home and I was like, what the hell is this, a new hockey movie that I hadn't heard about? (my whole family plays hockey) so I was excited. We started watching and I was scratching my head, still thinking what the hell is this? Anyway, it's so corny and 'out there' it might be off putting at first, but if you let yourself appreciate it's qualities, passion and message about the sport and the values of tradition it's an easy movie to adore. Lots of funny moments and a fun soundtrack. Best moment was a scene with Rob Lowe in a Leather jacket, but under his jacket he was wearing a #10 Mustangs t-shirt. My 11 year old son noticed that...very proud :)
