Plot Summary
From the producers of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and mind of author Katherine Paterson comes a rousing fantasy adventure about family, friendship, and the wondrous power of imagination. A perpetual outsider both at home and at school, Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) just never seems to fit in no matter how hard he tries. When his goal to become the fastest runner in middle school is unexpectedly thwarted by newly arrived classmate Leslie Burke (AnnaSophia Robb), who enters in an "all boys" race and leaves her competitors in the dust, Jess soon strikes up a friendship with the imaginative outsider. Their bond is soon cemented thanks to Leslie's love for storytelling and Jess' skill as an artist, and the two lonely kids create a secret kingdom called Terabithia that is only accessible by swinging over a stream on a nearby rope. Though Jess and Leslie may be considered outcasts by their classmates, their adventures in Terabithia find the pair doing battle against the dreaded Dark Master and his malevolent creatures while plotting revenge against the schoolyard bullies. Now, thanks to his adventures in Terabithia and his friendship with Leslie, Jess finally finds the confidence needed to stand tall and be himself.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The story is a pleasant enough diversion with a positive message about seeing the troubled person behind the bully and the importance of keeping an open mind.
Fresh: The special effects suggest a Narnia-like romp, but the movie has a darker, more sorrowful landscape to explore and it does so brilliantly, with true nuance and heartfelt sincerity.
Fresh: Despite its small scale, Bridge offers a lot of things you won't see in most children's movies, including honest dialogue, actions that have consequences and some truly moving moments.
Rotten: For all that Bridge to Terabithia does to encourage children to exercise their imaginations and pursue the arts, the movie's producers give only glimpses of the wonderful creatures and magical kingdom dreamed up by two children.

Really Great and Sweet!
Ok so everyone thought this movie was kinda bad and just for little kids. I completely disagree. This is a great movie with an awesome meaning. Little kids that watch this movie get the point...but not really. There is a whole other story under the surface. It's a story of life and death, love and hate, friends and enemys. In this movie there is something that each and everyone of us can learn. I highly recommend Bridge to Terabithia!
THEY RUINED IT!!
The book "Bridge to Terabithia" was supposed to be a realistic fiction, and that their secret world was all imagination, but this movie turned it into some sort of fantasy flick because they probably thought it would be too boring for this generation. Plus, there's already a movie based on the book, and it follows it way more closely than this does, and it was made in the 80's! So if you want something to keep you entertained with action and special effects and all that, watch this version. But if you want something more closely related to the book, watch the original. Or even better, ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK!!
Good Movie
When I went to go see this is the theatere with my mom I thought it was going to be a kiddy movie, but it was really good! Its got a good storyline, so everyone can enjoy =)
