Plot Summary

In the course of one chaotic week, the lives of three conflicted New York City police officers are dramatically transformed by their involvement in a massive drug operation. Burned out veteran Eddie Dugan (Golden-Globe®-winner Richard Gere of PRIMAL FEAR) is just one week away from his pension and a fishing cabin in Connecticut. Narcotics officer Sal Procida (Oscar®-nominee Ethan Hawke of TRAINING DAY) has discovered there’s no line he won’t cross to provide a better life for his long-suffering wife and seven children. And Clarence “Tango” Butler (Oscar®-nominee Don Cheadle of OCEAN'S ELEVEN Franchise) has been undercover so long his loyalties have started to shift from his fellow police officers to his prison buddy Caz (Wesley Snipes of BLADE), one of Brooklyn’s most infamous drug dealers. With personal and work pressures bearing down on them, each man faces daily tests of judgment and honor in one of the world’s most difficult jobs in this searing new crime drama from acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY).

Rotten: An old-style potboiler about desperate cops in dire straits that overcooks both its story and its stars, with Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle and Richard Gere the main ingredients left stewing. – Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Brooklyn's Finest may well have a future on cable as a drinking game. At one sip per cuss word, though, few viewers will still be conscious for the ending... – Kyle Smith, New York Post, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: the film's remarkable cast helps Fuqua bring his sprawling web of nastiness to another level – Chris Chang, Film Comment Magazine, Nov 13, 2013

Nice movie

This movie has a great plot and give u looks from the diff people in the movie. The acting is top shelf . Great movie all around.

Bad movie, I was embrassed

I have been a cop for 26 years. I have never seen a movie that tells such a terrible story. To many stories at once, no real truth, and not at all realistic.
I was embrassed that I had known the two ex cops who were the tec advisors. I no respect for their work...Is it just about making money and you sell your soul just to be in the credits??? This movie was made to make cops look bad. It also projected that all blacks that live in inner city projects are into the drug trade, not true.. The cast was made up of really accomplished actors yet the screen play should have never been approved. This NYPD officers that approved this story should have been embrassed. This might have been the way it was 25 years ago. The cops on the streets of NYC have done a great job of cleaning up the inner city projects. The idea that a narcotic squad would be so out of control is no long realistic.
I was raised in the bronx ,in the area near the 44 pct it was a poor neighborhood, and i had NYPD in my family, shame on the writers, director, and the studio that would approve such trash....
signed a San Francisco Police officer..

not worth buying

oh boy we can wait around till the end of july.
