Fresh: Engrossing and sometimes inspiring...
Fresh: What's most gratifying about Budrus is that the film enables us to feel some of the same emotions the participants experienced.
Fresh: The little-told story of a small but growing nonviolent opposition movement among rural West Bank Palestinians gets an airing in Julia Bachas mostly fair-minded documentary.
Fresh: No one can believe that "Budrus" is showing us the key to peace in the Middle East. But any positive note about this most intractable of conflicts should be savored.

Moriel Rothman
Budrus is an incredibly important, moving, troubling and inspiring film. I am an Israeli citizen and have long been dedicated to justice and equality for all people living in Israel and Palestine. Before seeing Budrus, however, I was unsure about the strategy of direct protests against the occupation. I was, to be honest, a bit afraid of the protests and skeptical as to whether these protests were truly nonviolent. Hearing the inspiring story of Budrus inspired me to begin attending weekly protests myself, and to witness first hand the dedication to nonviolence that many of these protests uphold, and the abuse and repression they face at the hands of my country's army. Budrus is a must see for anyone interested in learning more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and exploring different methods of nonviolent resistance to the occupation and attempts to bring justice to this long-torn region.
Budrus
Budrus is an amazingly eye-opening film, and is great for an American audience. The bravery and peril of Palestinian-led nonviolent resistance is put on display in the context of Israeli military occupation. As someone who worked with Palestinians and Israelis in the southern West Bank for many years, I really appreciated this snap shot of nonviolent struggle. I even used the film as a case study for a youth community organizing workshop soon after it came out. It's a great snapshot of what is happening as far as nonviolent struggle and a tool for others to learn from.
Astonishing
This is one of the most important documentary recentely showing how it's possible to achieve improvements toward a new way for peace in Middle East. Pacific resistence can bring together israelis and palestinians , besides other internacional people, who really do not want war.
